AFL: Bulldogs to explore legal options after Casey attack

MELBOURNE, April 14 AAP - Western Bulldogs president David Smorgon said his AFL club
will investigate legal action after today's scathing attack by Richmond counterpart Clinton
Casey.

Relations between the two clubs sank dangerously low tonight as the fall-out continued
from last weekend's clash between Richmond on-baller Matthew Knights and Bulldogs Rover
Tony Liberatore.

Liberatore received a five-match ban at the tribunal and Casey has accused Smorgon
and Bulldogs coach Terry Wallace of condoning the hit.

Smorgon has said tonight he was prepared to let the matter end after the tribunal decision,
but will now explore legal avenues, describing Casey's comments as defamatory, unprovoked,
offensive and unprecedented.

He ridiculed Casey, saying the comments were more fitting of a radio shock-jock.
