QLD: Hopes increasing in the search for the Centaur

Shipwreck hunters involved in the search for the sunken hospital ship Centaur will
use high-resolution sonar today .. to study a promising target in waters off Queensland's
southeast.

Search director DAVID MEARNS' latest blog says the target is one of five so far identified
as matching the size and shape of the Centaur .. in the search zone near Moreton Island.

A Japanese submarine torpedoed the Centaur in Moreton Bay in 1943 .. killing 268 non-combatants
.. including nurses and ambulance officers.
